Agostino Tarsitano Research Interests

My research in statistics is in the field of multivariate analysis: cluster analysis, tolerance intervals, discriminant analysis, pattern recognition. A major emphasis of my work is to extend the applicability of the Friedma-Rubin approach for non-hierarchical classification

The focus in this field has been on the theory and applications of density models and on the asymptotic properties of the inequality measures

A common theme of my research has been statistical computation, with particular attention being given to the computer implementation of the statistical methodology. In fact, I project and realize the software for most of the applications (see the free software page)

I am also actively involved in research in the field of medical statisticss with special reference to the development of disease maps

Most recently, I'have been analyzing income data as part of an ongoing program to assess the multimodality of the size distribution of incomes
